Before and after pictures are always fun. I thought about not doing this blog because you will get to see the pictures before I edit and I was not sure if it would take away from the finished product. But like I said, before and after pictures are fun.
I hand edit all images in photoshop. Some images just take some minor tweaks while others have more extreme changes.
Sometimes, when shooting out on location, I am not able to work with the perfect lighting situation. Here the sky was a little blown out and my subjects were a little dark. Also, I added some more dramatic bluebonnets from a previous session to make this image perfect.
There are many newborn poses that require editing. This is called a composite. A composite shot is when you combine two pictures together to get the finished product. This is done in order to ensure the babies are safe and comfortable at all times.
For Evelyn's Valentine's Day cards we made "Falling For You" pictures. These pictures were intended to be cheesy and they were a big hit in Evelyn's first grade class. Evelyn loved these pictures and loved taking the picture. Being a photographers kid there are many times that she really is not interested in the photo session. Thankfully this one was different. She loved every minute of it and even sat next to me and watched me edit so she could see the finished product.
Then, there are many pictures that come out close to perfect straight out of camera. Pictures like this I warm up a little (I learn toward warm images over cooler images), bring out the eyes, and crop a little. Perfection straight out of camera really helps with editing times.
Photoshop can be a lot of fun once you learn how to use it a little. If you are trying to learn photoshop there are a lot a helps on YouTube.
